Indie-pop Singer/Songwriter Matilda Pratt, shares her latest single “21“, which is available now on all digital platforms.

BEHIND THE SCENES, LET’S KNOW MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST: Matilda Pratt is a 21-year-old indie/pop Singer-Songwriter from the West Midlands, UK. Having performed at festivals and shows across the UK and LA, Matilda is no stranger to working the stage and crowds of up to 10,000, including on National TV at Twickenham Stadium, performing the National Anthem in both 2022 and 2023. Her Festival highlights include CarFest, Pub in the Park, Oxted Festival, Tramlines Fringe Festival 2023, Ventura County Fair 2023, and her show highlights include The Hotel Cafe (Main Stage) in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Breaking Sound LA, headlining The Sunflower Lounge (Birmingham), The Jacaranda (Liverpool), Network (Sheffield) and supporting The Dunwells on their most recent tour in October 2023. She was invited to headline the ‘We Found New Music’ Showcase in Hollywood, Los Angeles with alumni including Billie Eilish, Sam Fender and Yungblud, as well as her music being featured as Track of the Day on BBC Introducing, voted by listeners on Future Hits Radio as Track of the Year 2022, and even selected by Jake Gosling for the Official Hotel Chocolat Spotify Playlist, streaming in over 100+ UK stores, as well as New York, Japan and St Lucia. Her most recent singles include ‘Dear You’, which has been streamed over 16,000 times on Spotify, ‘If She Dares’ and ‘My Stranger’, and her newest single, ’21’, which was written and recorded in LA is due for release on Friday 1st December 2023, followed by her final headline show of the year at The Victoria, Birmingham on Friday 8th December.

Talking about the meaning of the song, Matilda says: “‘21′ is a coming of age, indie/pop anthem that I wrote in Los Angeles this Summer 2023. I decided that I had had enough of writing love songs (for now…), and I sat and reflected on my life now, turning 21, graduating from Oxford University with my Law Degree in the Summer, and thinking about what was next for me. I wrote ’21’ envisaging my younger self sat right by my side, and the dreams I had when I was 7, and wondering whether she would be proud of who I am today and where she thought I would be at this stage in my life. It is also a testament to my amazing family and friends who have always supported me in every single endeavor that I have challenged myself to take on throughout my life so I hope that when people hear ’21’, they can picture a special person or persons that has helped them chase their dreams and has never left their side. It is also about that almost ‘limbo-like’ stage in life, in your early 20s, navigating the world, whether that is moving back in with your parents or starting afresh in a brand new city. I think ’21’ is probably my most honest song yet and I am so proud to release it into the world and hopefully connect with listeners over this shared experience.”
