Anglo-American indie electro/rock band IONA SKY, shared their latest single “Savior“, which is available on all digital stores.

BEHIND THE SCENES, LET’S KNOW MORE ABOUT THE ARTISTS: IONA SKY are an Anglo-American indie electro rock band based in Cambridgeshire, England. Formed in 2023, the group consists of lead vocalist/keys Anna-Sophia Henry, vocalist/guitarist/keys James Malone, and lead guitarist Simon Jupp. The musicians played their first gig together in Ely in April 2023 when Anna-Sophia joined them for a performance under the banner of the existing indie band, Shambertans, of which James and Simon were members. In July 2023, they formally became the three-piece that is IONA SKY. Their first official IONA SKY gig was as the opening act for an American Airforce July 4th gig with pop-rock headliners, X Ambassadors. IONA SKY’s sound blends together the pop and country influences of Anna-Sophia, who was a solo artist before joining the band, with the indie-rock influences of James and Simon. The combination produces traditional storytelling with an indie-pop sound based on guitar riffs and dreamy melodies. In October 2023 they released their first single, ‘Better,’ with their follow up ‘Savior’ due to release in November. The band are currently writing and recording a four track EP which is due for release early 2024 as well as organising a UK and Ireland tour in Spring in the same year.

“Savior” is an anthemic collision of Taylor Swift and Sam Fender by combining classic country storytelling with modern pop/rock vibes. It describes constantly being pulled into arguments and feeling like a mediator in other people’s problems, making it difficult to maintain your own strength and well-being.

‘Savior has been a labour of love for me for many months now,’ said Anna-Sophia Henry, lead singer of IONA SKY. ‘It came about whilst talking to several friends about very similar experiences they were going through in both their romantic and platonic relationships and being able to relate to them as of late. I’m super pumped to have this finally come out and for everyone to hear it!’.
