Talented artist Melina Hazewood, shares her single “Powerful“, which is available on all digital stores.

BEHIND THE SCENES, LET’S KNOW MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST: Melina Hazewood has music in her blood. First appearing on stage while still in the womb of her musical writing mother, Melina is now 16 and continuing the family legacy with her empowering single ‘Powerful’ – released March 8^th, 2023, when she was only 15. While Melina’s sound has been compared to the likes of Adele, she takes influence from a wide range of sources. Keen-eared listeners may recognise the inspiration of 70s French pop like Joe Dassin and Charles Aznavour, as well as The Beatles, Liza Minelli, Disney song and the 1930’s Luis Mariano and Charles Trenet. More importantly however, Powerful draws on the impact of the women that have inspired Melina throughout history and in her personal life. Born near Paris to a French mother and English Father, Melina has influences in both countries and is planning to play across the UK in the new year. In France last year, Melina participated in The Golden Voices International Singing Contest in Cannes winning both Best Singer-Songwriter and Coup de Coeur du Jury.

Powerful’s accompanying music video, released soon after on March 18^th, shows the artist’s on-screen presence and inspiring imagery. Shot in black and white for a timeless feel, the video depicts Melina singing and exploring the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, surrounded by the Queens of France.

Speaking about the meaning of the song, Melina says: “a song about the universal power of women [that] brings us all together to remind women of their worth and how unique they are… This is not a song about women being better than men, but a song about wanting equality and praising women’s capabilities. I believe that men should find their own inner strength as well!”.
