Talented band, The Mars McClanes shared their single “December Songs“, which is available on all digital stores.

BEHIND THE SCENES, LET’S KNOW MORE ABOUT THE ARTISTS: Fresh from the studio with a new wave of electrifying tracks, The Mars McClanes are redefining indie rock. This band, with roots in Dallas, TX, has carved out a sound that’s as unpredictable as their journey. They stumbled upon their unique style when faced with an unusual booking predicament early in their career at a well-known country bar. The band had signed on to play four hours of music that night, but didn’t have any country songs in their catalog. Rather than a cautionary tale, the gig stretched their sensibilities, finding inspiration in songs from Old 97s, Beck, and The Rolling Stones. Now that they call Portland, OR home, they’ve blended the gritty energy of their Dallas roots with the innovative spirit of the Pacific Northwest. A spirit named Harold that they keep in a footlocker in the basement.

Speaking about the meaning of the song, they said: “If we’re honest…the Grinch had a valid point. Nothing can make us more conscious of our own misery than watching joy in others during the holidays. A state of seasonal bliss is like an exclusive nightclub, complete with a bouncer and velvet rope. Waiting outside is tolerable—right up until the moment the fortunate ones get to skip the line. At that point, you’re more outside than ever. In that spirit, we submit for your consideration “December Songs.” Christmas, man—it’s complicated.“
Don’t miss it!
