Toronto indie rock band SWiiMS, shared their single “Fade Days“, from their latest album called “Into The Blue Night“, which is available on all digital stores.

BEHIND THE SCENES, LET’S KNOW MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST: SWiiMS are an indie rock outfit from Toronto, Canada. Singer Mai Diaz Langou & guitarist Colin Thompson started writing songs together in late 2019, blending a mixture of his fuzzy, jangly, swirling guitar tones with her elegant poetry, textured melodies and languid voice. Bassist Cian O’Ruanaidh joined shortly after, bringing a fresh voice, unique blend of influences and hooky bass lines to the group. Drummer Craig McCann joined the band in November 2023. Drawing influence from a diverse spectrum of artists, SWiiMS blends elements of 80’s New Wave, 90’s Shoegaze, Indie Rock, Brit Pop and Dream Pop to arrive at a sound that is all their own. SWiiMS released their debut EP “Through Waves” in the spring of 2020 amid the growing pandemic. Despite the shutdown, “Through Waves” got solid critical achievements, radio play and charted on NCAA. The band’s first full length LP “Into The Blue Night” is out now! The album has been enjoying success since its release on November 10, 2023: it currently sits at #64 on North American College & Community Radio Charts and has debuted at #16 on NACC Radio Canada.

Speaking about the work behind their latest album, they said: “Most of these songs were ideas we came up with during COVID back in 2020 and 2021, and we’ve been working on them ever since. They were all recorded and mixed around the end of 2022 and beginning of 2023. The general themes of the album are falling in love, getting through hard times in relationships – and because it was written right during multiple COVID waves and shutdowns, some songs are also about death, grief and losing faith in humanity.“
