Singer-songwriter Rebecca Helen from Cape Town (South Africa), shares her single “Tranquilize“, which is available on all digital stores.

BEHIND THE SCENES, LET’S KNOW MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST: Rebecca Helen has been singing and performing with various different bands over the past few years including a band formed with two of her sisters Vanessa and Stephanie called 3Dimensions. They have played at many different Cape Town venues, including the Barleycorn Club, Alma Cafe, Cellars Hohenort and Bay Harbour Market…(to name a few) and have also recorded two EPs together which were released on all digital platforms. In 2019, Rebecca Helen decided to seriously pursue a solo music career and recorded a POP/Dance album called Musical Life with Australian producer and Vinyl DJ Mick Evans (who worked with Trevor Horn), Australian musician and songwriter Rebeka Rain and musician Duncan Mackay (formerly from 10CC) from Melpro Recording Studios and DM Recording. She also had the opportunity to collaborate on this album with legendary songwriter Alan Roy Scott, who flew down from LA especially to help offer his creative inspiration and input, having worked with and written for many incredible artists from Gloria Estefan, Luther Vandross, Kylie Minogue and Cher to Celine Dion. She later released 3 additional singles in 2020, Movin On, Deep and Special, also recorded with Melpro Recording Studios. In 2022 she met SAMA nominated musician and producer Sasha Righini (The Plastics/Amor Amor) at a songwriting workshop that Alan Roy Scott was hosting at Ground Sound Studios (the new home to Mick Evans and Rebeka Rain) and is currently writing music with Sasha and is back with a fresh sound. She released a single “You Keep Playing Me” in December 2023 which is an indie dance/pop song driven by percussive rhythmic beats, sexy bass and atmospheric synths, while the catchy hooks and Rebecca Helen’s angelic voice draw you in.

Her single “Tranquilize” is an indie pop anthem, offering solace in its soul-stirring melodies and introspective lyrics. The song is about escaping to a special place (with a special someone) that lifts your spirits and brings you inner peace and joy. As her velvet voice weaves in & out of the melody floating from full voice to falsetto & the catchy synths drum out patterns in the sky while an infectious bass groove culminates in a burst of 80’s pop energy that leaves an indelible mark on the listeners heart.
