Eleven presents: Highrise – Young Man

Pop artist Highrise shares his latest single called “Young Man“, which is available on all streaming platforms.

Talking about the meaning of the track, Highrise says: “On the surface, “Young Man” is a message to younger men about the weight of past mistakes following them into the future, however it is metaphorically a message to the artist’s younger self. Inspired by a change in lifestyle by the artist, Highrise, who recently became engaged, started taking finances seriously, lost a few friends and loved ones due to violence and old age, breached his 30s, and took stock of the life he had lived in his 20s, this song is an introspective look into the follies of his own youth, and a word of caution for those who may have been living a similar lifestyle. The line in the bridge, “take it from me I’ve been down this road, but if you’re like me then likely you won’t, find what you seek ’til you learn for yourself, the path that burns least as you walk through Hell” sums this up nicely, while taking note that part of the foolishness of youth is refusing to learn from the experiences of those who came before.” He continues, “This song marks a very hard course correction in style for Highrise, whose past music was heavily rap centric and featured a lot of edgy, aggressive lyrical content. Highrise has been a self-producing artist and vocal engineer for the past five years, but had been attempting to develop a singing voice since 2011, and only recently with this latest release and it’s predecessor has he seen his efforts bear fruit sonically.”
