BEHIND THE SCENES, LET’S KNOW MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST: TENNIN is an independent French artist whose musical universe effortlessly blends alternative indie R&B with alt-pop, creating a sound that feels both intimate and forward-thinking. With a distinctive artistic identity, TENNIN explores emotion, atmosphere, and modern sonic textures, crafting music that resonates with listeners seeking something fresh yet deeply expressive .Her style stands out for its ability to move between vulnerability and strength, combining smooth vocals with layered production and subtle experimental elements. This fusion allows her to carve out a unique space within the contemporary music scene, appealing to fans of both alternative and pop genres. She began by sharing her original compositions on stage before bringing them into the studio. In 2019, she released the single “Heal You” on False Idols, the label founded by Tricky (former member of Massive Attack), as part of the Test of Time compilation. The following year, in 2020, she collaborated with the renowned Parisian label Kitsuné Music on the single “Guys In Tears.”
Talking about the new release, TENNIN shared a deeply personal perspective on “Jamais Vraiment Là” and the message behind it.
-“Today I’m releasing ‘Jamais Vraiment Là’, produced by New York–based producer maticulous. Blending an indie RnB aesthetic with subtle ’90s influences — which have always shaped my musical world — and a minimalist atmosphere, the track explores a subject still largely considered taboo for women: dependency as a fragile refuge, and the judgments that too often replace genuine listening.“
She continues, “Lately, more and more women have chosen to break the silence and open up the conversation. Thanks to them, others are finding the courage to speak out as well. Through direct, unfiltered writing, I sing about this simple — almost forgotten — need: to be truly heard.”
With this release, TENNIN not only expands her sonic identity but also brings an honest and necessary conversation to the forefront, proving once again how music can be both personal and powerfully universal.
