Nashville artist Betty Reed shares the (Acoustic Version) of her EP “Mistakes Made, Lessons Learned”, available on all digital stores.

For the EP, Betty Reed, a Berklee College of Music graduate, collaborated with Nashville producer, Evan Redwine, who brought on acoustic guitarist, Nate Dugger and percussionist, Josh Hunt, to give these stripped-down songs a multi-layered, rich sound.

Betty Reed says: “Evan lent another perspective to my personal story, essentially that men who cry are deemed less manly, which carries the extra burden of being both ostracized and suffering the consequences of keeping their feelings bottled up.”

“Even though the subject matter of most of my songs is serious, I mask it with an upbeat vibe—it’s like this veneer of cheeriness that you feel you have to project in order to feel normal.”

BEHIND THE SCENES, LET’S KNOW MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST: Betty Reed is the performance persona of Taylor Dill, a graduate of Berklee College of Music with a BA in vocal performance. Her expressive vocals and clever lyrics resonate in every song she writes and performs. Many of Betty Reed’s songs draw upon her personal experiences of coping with depression and finding the silver lining around those dark clouds. After moving to Nashville, TN from Boston, MA, Betty Reed released four country-pop singles, infusing her pop sensibility with the country vibe of Nashville: Her, Drunk On You, I’ll Get By, and Good Days. In early 2021, Betty Reed shifted into a new musical genre and released three electro-pop singles: Fall Apart, Never Enough, and My Way.  On September 3, 2021, Betty Reed released her debut six-song EP, “Mistakes Made, Lessons Learned.” A companion EP, “Mistakes Made, Lessons Learned (Acoustic Version)” will be released worldwide on March 25, 2022. 

Career highlights include:

• Betty Reed was a contestant in the 2021 Billboard NXT Singer/Songwriter competition. She is among 12 contestants who were chosen out of thousand submissions to participate.
• Betty Reed’s song Karma was named a semi-finalist in the 2021 Unsigned Only International Songwriting  Competition.
• Betty Reed’s 2020 country-pop song, Drunk On You was remixed by several award-winning producers/DJs, including Dave Aude and StoneBridge. The song hit the Billboard Dance Chart in March 2020.
